Apple WWDC 2025: New iOS 26 promises the 'biggest changes in years' after launching 'worst AI in Silicon Valley'

Daily Mail - Science & tech

Craig Federighi's opening remarks were nearly derailed by a protester who snuck into WWDC 2025 Monday afternoon. It's not clear what the protester said while they tried to interrupt Federighi's presentation of iOS 26, CNBC reported. Several major technology events have been interrupted by protests recently, most of which supported Hamas and protested the tech industry's business ties to the Israeli government. Apple CEO Tim Cook closed out Monday presentation of the company's new operating system by announcing that iOS 26 is now available to developers for Beta testing today. That means a pre-release version of the iOS 26 operating system for iPhones is now accessible for registered Apple developers to test.

WWDC 2024: Everything Apple announced today including iOS 18, AI with Apple Intelligence and more

Engadget

Today's keynote for Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference teased a lot of what users can expect later this year when all of its major software updates roll out. Big changes coming to iOS 18, macOS Sequoia and watchOS 11 include RCS support, a new Passwords app, a revamped Calculator app and a bunch of artificial intelligence (AI) infusions across the board thanks to the new "Apple Intelligence" system. If you weren't able to catch the news live, here's a rundown of everything announced at WWDC 2024. Apple revealed its plans to incorporate AI into its operating systems at WWDC this year. Dubbed "Apple Intelligence," this new generative AI system will appear in iOS and iPad 18 and macOS Sequoia in the form of (what Apple believes to be) practical tools that most people can use regularly.

Stardew Valley's 1.6 Update Is Out--Here's Some of the Biggest Changes (2024)

WIRED

The popular farming sim and ultimate cozy game, Stardew Valley, dropped a major update on Tuesday after months of anticipation. Stardew's 1.6 update has an insane amount of new content that touches every area of the game, from new menus and DIYs, to a new farm layout, new crops, and the ability to have multiple pets and play with seven friends at once. It's enough updates to make the game feel fresh, but isn't so new that you can't ease back into a beloved farm and toil away. It's important to note here that the free update is currently only available for PC players. The update will come to mobile and consoles like the Nintendo Switch later on.

How many times it happens that after developing a great Machine Learning model, we hear'Good Job', which is first followed by hurdles to deploy then ultimately leaving it as a'showcase model'. How many times we get Business Approval to pilot a model, but we face constraints related to systems or data which leaves us wanting. With current upsurge of Machine learning and new computing technologies, business are demanding deployments of analytics solutions rather than just focusing on showcase models. To bridge the gap, we can follow few easy steps during formulation of our machine learning model and take massive step forward for deploying the solutions. The whole journey of Analytics starts with defining what we are planning to achieve.

Cardiologist Eric Topol: 'AI can restore the care in healthcare'

#artificialintelligence

Eric Topol is an American cardiologist and geneticist – among his many roles he is founder and director of the Scripps Research Translational Institute in California. He has previously published two books on the potential for big data and tech to transform medicine, with his third, Deep Medicine, looking at the role that artificial intelligence might play. He has served on the advisory boards of many healthcare companies, and last year published a report into how the NHS needs to change if it is to embrace digital advances. Your field is cardiology – what makes you tick as a doctor? I was in clinic all day yesterday – I love seeing patients – but I also try to use whatever resources I can, to think about how can we do things better, how can we have much better bonding, accuracy and precision in our care.

20 Experts Reveal how Talent Acquisition will Change in 2019 ( How We Can Keep Up) - Jobiak

#artificialintelligence

In my opinion, Google For Jobs will probably become a game changer over the next year. Google rolled it out in the US and then they were very careful to assess its impact before rolling out to other territories. It takes time for job searchers to change their job searching habits, and Google will know this as they inevitably wait for the impact they hope it will have on the market, as searchers move away from big job boards such as Indeed and Monster (unless they seriously grow their marketing budgets to ensure they stay in public consciousness), and directly go to Google for the most suitable collection of jobs. Don't be shocked to see the tool being used in conjunction with paid ads for jobs though in 2019. The search giant does nothing unless it grows their bottom line through ads.

What technology will drive the biggest changes in 2019?

#artificialintelligence

Recent outages from some of the world's biggest companies, including O2 and Facebook, have raised questions over how prepared infrastructure is to deal with the latest technology. From the O2 outage alone, payments systems went down, car parking tech didn't work and transport systems failed. While there are significant developments happening every year in technology, we are still some way off seeing some of the much-anticipated tech that was predicted to have an impact in 2018. With the year coming to an end, it's time to look ahead at what we can actually expect from 2019. AI is going beyond attention-grabbing gimmicks and is impacting everything from HR processes to measuring stock in retail. This is where the most significant developments will be made in 2019.

iPhone X: everything we think we know about the new Apple smartphone

The Guardian

The iPhone X is expected to be announced on Tuesday – but the company's usual code of secrecy has broken down, meaning we already know a lot about the device. With its junking of the home button it represents the biggest change to the design of Apple's pivotal smartphone in years. A leak of the final version of Apple's upcoming software for iPhones and iPads, iOS 11, occurred over the weekend, revealing that the crucial new smartphone will be called the iPhone X, and will probably launch alongside two new versions of Apple's current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, renamed the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The iOS 11 leak, dug through for details of new iPhones by developers Steve Troughton-Smith and Guilherme Rambo among others, also revealed several key details of the next iPhone. We can expect the iPhone X to have 3GB of RAM, the same amount of memory as the current iPhone 7 Plus.

Windows 10 Creators Update: The 5 biggest changes

PCWorld

Microsoft just announced that the Windows 10 Creators Update will start rolling out on April 11, building upon the foundation laid by vanilla Windows 10 and its subsequent "November" and "Anniversary" updates. While not every feature that Microsoft promised at the Creators Update's reveal last fall actually made the final cut, it's still overflowing with helpful new extras that polish rough edges and just plain make things more fun. You'll need to read PCWorld's comprehensive Windows 10 Creators Update review for our hands-on impressions, or PCWorld's mammoth Creators Update roundup for nitty-grittier feature details, but here are the five biggest changes you'll encounter when it rolls out to your device. The first change you'll notice in the Windows 10 Creators Update is literally the first thing you'll see when you boot up: An improved installation process. Microsoft's taken a lot of heat for Windows 10's deeper hooks into your personal data.
